The track has come up a Good 4 and they had to irrigate to get it there yesterday. Ararat is generally a track that favours those horses up on speed when it is racing well and that will again be the case today.

No.2 NIGHT STICK – Will Price (Barrier 3)
NIGHTSTICK will make his debut at Ararat today in an 1100m Maiden. He has drawn gate three and Will Price will wide.
NIGHTSTICK has looked good in both recent jumpouts. He got a long way back at Avoca but was never let off the chain chasing subsequent winner, Kerioth. His recent Geelong jump-out was very good, defeating the handy Naval Envoy and doing so under very light riding. This gelding looks to have plenty of ability and he strikes a winnable race on debut.
Despite the scratchings and while it is still a very competitive and even race, we think NIGHT STICK is a very talented horse and one the stable is keen to see debut today. He’s a good chance here today.
