The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in KINTSUGI BELLE and PACKER’S BOND running at Warrnambool.
Warrnambool – Soft (7)
Race 2 (2pm) Ponting’s Mitre 10 Maiden Plate
No.11 KINTSUGI BELLE – Michael Poy (Barrier 8)
KINTSUGI BELLE heads to Warrnambool today where she will tackle a 1700m Maiden. She has drawn gate eight and Michael Poy will ride.
KINTSUGI BELLE was fantastic on debut over 1443m at Geelong. As expected, she got back in the early stages before working to the line really strongly, posting some of the best late splits in the race despite wanting to lay in a touch. She was super through the line there, giving every indication the step to 1700m on Thursday would be ideal. This is a significantly weaker maiden, she should strip fitter and she’s a key winning hope.
POWER OF SONG really looks the only danger here and it does look a race in two. Hopefully we can outlast here.

Race 8 (5pm) Sungold Milk BM64 Handicap
No.3 PACKER’S BOND – Michael Poy (Barrier 2)
PACKER’S BOND also heads to Warrnambool today where he will contest a 1700m BM64. He has drawn gate two and Michael Poy takes the ride.
PACKER’S BOND made a winning start to his career with the stable getting the job done in a similar sort of BM64 at Ballarat in what was a ‘sit-sprint’ affair. From gate four, he is going to get a lovely run in the race and he has shown an ability to handle wet tracks in the past. His best form has always been that of a pretty handy horse and while his rating last time out was well down on his absolute best he was more than a month between runs and should be open to improvement today.
The scratchings have thinned this race out a bit today and his price is about right today. If he can run up to his last start he is certainly in the mix and he should let down better on this soft track. It’s another learning experience today for us given just his second start for the stable, so hopefully he can surprise us again and be fighting out the finish.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $5.50 (as at 8am)
