Henry Dwyer Racing – Tuesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has three runners today in MARTHA LAVINIA, BETTER TOMORROW and TELEKINESIS running at Mildura.

Mildura – Good (4)

Mildura has missed the rain that has swept across much of Victoria and as a result the track is currently a Good 4 and it will only improve from there.

Race 1 (1.30pm) Eng Media Big Screen Hire 3YO Maiden

No.6 MARTHA LAVINIA – Michael Poy (Barrier 3)

MARTHA LAVINIA heads to Mildura today where she will contest a 1200m Maiden. She has drawn gate three and Michael Poy will ride.

MARTHA LAVINIA was home the 5th best last 400/200m splits of the meeting on debut at Donald in a maiden that rated well. She loomed as the winner halfway up the straight but just wasn’t quite able to put it away but this looks an equally suitable assignment and she can potentially handier from gate three today. With natural improvement she’s one of the key chances and she was scratched from Moonee Valley last Friday night for this. If she begins well she will put herself on the speed, and while this does a look a really strong race for a maiden at Mildura and looks like she will be better over further next start, she will be competitive here.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $3.50 (as at 8am)

Race 2 (2pm) Mildura Plumbing Plus Maiden Plate

No.3 BETTER TOMORROW – Michael Poy (Barrier 9)

BETTER TOMORROW also heads to Mildura today where he will contest a 1300m Maiden. He has drawn gate nine and Michael Poy will ride.

BETTER TOMORROW hasn’t figured in the placings in his first three starts and is a little bit of a hobby project owned by the stable. He has had little tick over jumpout since his last run and he showed a little bit with the blinkers on, but it is hard to see him figuring here given what he has shown us to date.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $8 (as at 8am)

Race 7 (4.30pm) Mildura Motor Holdings BM58 Handicap

No.2 TELEKINESIS – Michael Poy (Barrier 1)

TELEKINESIS is our third runner at Mildura today where he will contest a 1200m BM58. He has drawn gate one and Michael Poy will ride.

TELEKINESIS has settled in well after arriving overnight and is ready go today. He hasn’t had much luck in his last few starts and he is going as well as he can and looks as well as he can at the moment. Barrier one isn’t ideal, but looking at the speed map he should be able to box seat behind the leaders which would be his best position. He looks a nice even chance in what looks like a fairly strong race for a BM58 at Mildura, and while the two favourites look the hardest to beat, the field drops away after that and he can be competitive here.

On his best and with luck in running he can win this, so he should be thereabouts when the whips are cracking.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9 (as at 8am)
