The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in TOFFEE STREET and TWELVE STARS running at Kyneton.
Kyneton – Soft (7)
The track is currently rated a Soft 7 but there’s a few showers forecast and that should deteriorate. Kyneton is a momentum track where you need to be making ground a furlong before they hit the home straight.
Race 2 (1.30pm) Bet365 Protest Promise 3YO Maiden Plate
No.14 TOFFEE STREET – Ben Allen (Barrier 10)
TOFFEE STREET heads to Kyneton today where she will contest a 1212m Maiden. She has drawn gate ten and Ben Allen will ride.
TOFFEE STREET has a fitness edge and race experience on a few of her key rivals here. She jumped-out nicely prior to her resumption at Geelong where she ran a solid third to Xtra Gear and I Like Big Putts, in a race dominated up on speed. That race rated quite well with the whole race coming home the best late splits of the meeting. She will be better for the first up run and the extra trip is in her favour. The key for Ben Allen will be to find a nice spot from the wide draw, somewhere near the speed, and from there she will be hard to beat.
WAITAPU and SOCIAL STAR look the two main competitors here but we strip fitter from the first-up run and she will go close.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $3.50 (as at 8am)

Race 3 (2pm) Bet365 Hanging Rock Cup Jan 26 F&M Maiden
No.9 TWELVE STARS – Ben Allen (Barrier 11)
TWELVE STARS also heads to Kyneton today where she will contest a 1200m Maiden. She has drawn gate eleven and Ben Allen will ride.
This race has thinned out with nine scratchings and while we jump from barrier 11 of 11, TWELVE STARS will get back anyway so it won’t matter. The track has come up a Soft 7 which she will handle and she will be ridden conservatively to finish off. RUTHERFORD and LIKA MOSH look like they will be the two hardest to beat and it drops away after that. She bombed the last start so you can put a line through that and she puts the blinkers on today which will sharpen her up. If she can run up to her best she will be running on strongly.
She might be better placed next start with another run under her belt, but she’s not the worst here despite her odds.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $41 (as at 8am)
