Henry Dwyer Racing – Saturday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has three runners today in MOSCOW RED and EXLOVER running at Morphettville and UNDER OATH running at Warracknabeal.

Morphettville – Soft (5)

Race 2 (1.06pm) GH Mumm Handicap

No.1 MOSCOW RED – Ben Price a(3) (Barrier 5)

MOSCOW RED heads to Morphettville today where she will contest a 1400m BM68. She has drawn gate five and Ben Price will ride with his 3kg claim.

MOSCOW RED finds herself in a very winnable race today, even though the plan was to head to the mile, this weaker race at 1400 metres will suit her perfectly. She will go to the mile next start, but she has another chance to win a city race here today. At her best MOSCOW RED should be too good for her competition today and she is going as well as she can, she will sit just off the speed here and will be running home strongly. With luck in running and a good ride from young Ben Price, she is a good chance at each way odds.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $8.50 (as at 8am)

Race 5 (3.01pm) Spring Racing Carnival At Morphettville

No.3 EXLOVER – Mitch Aitken (Barrier 6)

EXLOVER also heads to Morphettvile today where he will contest a 1000m BM64. He has drawn gate six and Mitch Aitken will ride.

EXLOVER has trained on really well since his last start and goes to a race today that seems to be lacking in speed which is unusual for a 1000 metre race in Adelaide. That means he will settle closer in the run and he has significant weight relief from his last start. He is still improving, but he does look like if he can run up to his best today then he looks like he will be really competitve here today.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9.50 (as at 8am)

Warracknabeal – Good (4)

For the first time in a while, Warracknabeal has come up a Good 4 and that should mean those near the speed have some advantage. It is a tighter turning track with a short straight of 210m and when it is firm it lends itself to leaders and it can be difficult to make ground.

Race 6 (3.46pm) Bet365 2021 Sheep Hills Cup

No.2 UNDER OATH – Michael Poy (Barrier 4)

UNDER OATH heads to Warracknabeal today to tackle the Sheep Hills Cup over 2000m. He has drawn ideally in gate four and Michael Poy will take the ride.

UNDER OATH dropped in grade last time out and bounced back to form getting out to the 2000m for the first time this campaign. He was able to sit up outside a moderate tempo at Murray Bridge last start and despite getting a touch keen in the middle stages of the race was too good for his rivals. This is certainly a step up in grade again and he will have more pressure to endure early if he wants to race on speed, but now that he’s found his form this campaign he can go on with it. UNDER OATH ran midfield in this race last year in what was also a reasonably strong edition but on the strength of his last win it is easy to make a case he is going better this time around.

It looks a great race for him and he should acquit himself well as he always does.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9 (as at 8am)
