Henry Dwyer Racing – Saturday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has three runners today in DANSE DE LA LUNE, IRISH PLAYBOY and THE SISCOS KID running at Morphettville.

Morphettville – Heavy (8)

Race 4 (2.07pm) GH Mumm Maiden Plate

No.3 DANSE DE LA LUNE – Jake Opperman a(2) (Barrier 4)

DANSE DE LA LUNE heads to Morphettville today where she will contest a 1050m Maiden. She has drawn gate four and Jake Opperman will ride with his 2kg claim.

She has travelled over well to Adelaide and is ready to run a good race today, she should ping the gates and will put herself on speed, with the favourite LASTAR a speedster who will take up the lead. This is a really nice race for DANSE DE LA LUNE today, she is fitter here second-up and will have every chance to break her maiden. LASTAR looks the only real danger and if the McEvoy colt is city class then we might find it hard to pass him, if he’s not then DANSE DE LA LUNE will be looming up and will look the winner at some stage.

Should run well today and be in the first three somewhere, hopefully that’s out in front come the post.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $5 (as at 8am)

Race 5 (2.47pm) Spring Racing Carnival Oct 9 – Nov 6

No.4 IRISH PLAYBOY – Mitch Aitken (Barrier 3)

IRISH PLAYBOY also heads to Morphettvile today where he will contest a 1800m BM74. He has drawn gate three and Mitch Aitken will ride.

He’s settled in well over in Adelaide and finds himself in a nice race today at Morphettville. The favourite MOTELL has a but of upside about it, but has drawn wide, so that might dictate where we land today. We will get back and hopefully follow the favourite in the run, with Mitch Aitken to ensure he is off the fence so he can have clear running at the right time. Outside of MOTELL, the field does seem to drop away, so it will all depend on how the race pans out in the run. If IRISH PLAYBOY gets a bit of luck in running and MOTELL doesn’t, then he’s a chance to topple the favourite in this race.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9.50 (as at 8am)

Race 8 (4.47pm) Furphy Handicap

No.5 THE SISCOS KID – Jake Opperman a(2) (Barrier 9)

THE SISCOS KID is our third runner at Morphettville today where he will contest a 1514m Handicap. He has drawn gate nine and Jake Opperman will ride with his 2kg claim.

THE SISCOS KID is a very laid back customer and he hasn’t left an oat since his arrival yesterday morning. This looks a really suitable race for THE SISCOS KID, his form suggests he doesn’t handle the wet but he might in fact be even better on the wetter surface, with his one run on a heavy track an unsuitable race for him from the outset. The track might be chopping up on the inside by this stage of the day, so the outside barrier might suit and Jake can sit where he is comfortable and find the best ground in the straight. With even luck in running, he will be coming home strongly here and looks like the one to beat.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $3.80 (as at 8am)
