The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in MACONNI and IRISH BUTTERFLY running at Murray Bridge.

Race 1 (12.01pm) Lazy Breeze Wines Maiden Plate
No.8 MACONNI – Dom Tourneur (Barrier 2)
MACONNIA heads to Murray Bridge today where she will contest a 1000m Maiden. She has drawn gate two and Dom Tourneur will ride.
MACONNI has had two starts for two placings, she was good on debut at Geelong and then ran really well over the Swan Hill Carnival, where she box seated behind the leader and eventual winner. She got out late and probably needed another 100 metres, she only gets an extra 25 metres in today’s race but hopefully the big Murray Bridge track, which is similar to our Pakenham track, can allow her to run them down and she goes around a really good chance in this race.
We have the significant booking of Dom Tourneur and a good barrier and today is a great chance for her to breakthrough for her maiden win.

Race 8 (4.16pm) Gipsie Jack Wines Handicap
No.10 IRISH BUTTERFLY – Mitch Aitken (Barrier 9)
IRISH BUTTERFLY also heads to Murray Bridge today where he will contest a 1800m BM72. He has drawn in gate nine and Mitch Aitken will ride.
IRISH BUTTERFLY lines up in a race that is probably the first this preparation where he is a real live winning chance. Each race he has been in there have been just one or two progressive, smart horses and we haven’t had him at the right distance and he has been racing like he wants 2000 metres. Today we get him to 1800 metres and like our other runner today the Murray Bridge track will really suit him. His win at Sandown over 1500 metres at the end of his last preperation was a pretty good endorsement for this race and he probably only needs to run up to that to be extremely competitve and the extra 300 metres only suits. We will then look to a 2000 metre race back in Victoria in a couple of week’s time.
