Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today in STAR OF MANHATTAN running at Sandown.

Sandown – Soft 6

Racing is on the inner Lakeside track at Sandown today with the track rated an improving Soft 6. The rail goes out to the 3m position having been in the true at the last meeting so there may be a little bit of wear and tear nearer the inside. Generally speaking it’s no disadvantage to be on speed around the Lakeside track.

No.12 STAR OF MANHATTAN – Damian Lane (Barrier 4)

STAR OF MANHATTAN heads to Sandown today where she will contest a 1200m BM64. She has drawn gate four and Damian Lane takes the ride.

STAR OF MANHATTAN posted a very good rating in winning two back at Bendigo. She went up to Swan Hill Carnival last time out and stepped significantly in grade and while the formguide doesn’t read overly well, you can potentially forgive that run. She was travelling OK when a rival horse tragically struck the running rail and it clearly put this filly off her game. She should get a nice run in transit from gate four and having an in-form Damian Lane on her back is a big plus.

Her last gallop at home was really good and this filly has plenty of upside and she deserves her chance in a very even midweek BM64. She will park just behind the speed in the run and is good chance to fill the placings today.
