The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with STRATESSA running at Sandown.
Sandown – Soft (7)
Racing is on the inner Lakeside course today after we raced on then outer Hillside track on Saturday. Generally speaking, it is some advantage to be on speed on the Lakeside track. The rail is back to the true having been out 8m which means that inside strip is fresh ground and we are likely to improve to a Soft 6 come race time provided there’s no more rain.

No.9 STRATESSA – Ben Allen (Barrier 2)
STRATESSA heads to Sandown today where she will contest a 1600m BM64. She has drawn gate two and Ben Allen will ride.
STRATESSA is on trial at the mile but the way she hit the line at Ballarat last time out there’s every reason to think she will be suited out in trip. She was home the 4th best last 400/200m spits of the meeting in a solid Fillies and Mares BM64 over 1400m last time out and she has worked to the line strongly in her last two outings. That last start effort – won by the leader in Finesse Tess – was in a slowly run race put on for the on-pacers, so her effort had plenty of merit. From gate two, Ben Allen will most likely be midfield on the fence, which should be ok ground given only four races are run before this one.
She is likely to need some luck from that low draw, but she has genuine winning claims given the wet track is right in her favour.
