The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has three runners today in VISTABELLE and WIN FALL running on Day 2 of the Swan Hill Carnival and IRISH PLAYBOY running at Sandown.
Swan Hill – Good (4)
This is Day 2 of the three-day Swan Hill Carnival. Most of fthe rain missed Swan Hill so we find ourselves on a Good 4. When Swan Hill is dry, it’s a slight advantage to be on speed but as the Carnival goes on and if we get some rain, that inside section will chop out.
Race 7 (3.44pm) Buzbiz.net.au F&M BM64 Handicap
No.7 VISTABELLE – Lucinda Boyd (Barrier 10)
VISTABELLE also heads to Swan Hill today where she will tackle a 1300m BM64. She has drawn gate ten and Lucinda Boyd will ride.
VISTABELLE resumed back in April at Pakenham where she was most disappointing, failing to beat a runner home and being beaten a long way after being eased out of the race late. That certainly wasn’t par for the course for this talented mare. She has been given seven-weeks between runs now and has had three jump-outs to keep her up to the mark. She jumped-out well between runs, especially most recently at St Arnaud and there’s no doubt her best form is good enough to be competitive in a race like this.
From the barrier we will need to go back with plenty of speed in this race, her trials suggests she is travelling well but you need to take her on trust with her recent runs not up to her best. All signs point to a better performance here.

Race 8 (4.24pm) Swan Hill Stockfeeds 0-58 Handicap
No.13 WIN FALL – Jack Hill (Barrier 1)
WIN FALL is the stable’s third runner at Swan Hill and will run in the 1200 metre 0-58 Handicap. She has drawn gate one and Jack Hill will ride.
WIN FALL has drawn barrier 1 so we want to see her bounce out of the gates here. Here first-up run was ok, finishing three lengths off at Geelong, with last start she was pretty lethargic, beaten four lengths in an average run in an average race. She’s as fit as she can ever get, today she is on top of the ground on a big track and it will give us a really good guide as to where she is at. It’s a bit tricky for Jack Hill from barrier 1 so he will have to navigate that, but there are really no excuses today for her not to show her best except for not having any luck in running.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $10 (as at 8am)

Sandown- Heavy (9)
As the day goes on, horses will get away from the fence, but Sandown is a very good wet-weather track and it should provide for reasonably fair racing.
Race 8 (4.05pm) Ladbroke It Handicap
No.15 IRISH PLAYBOY – Michael Poy (Barrier 10)
IRISH PLAYBOY heads to Sandown today where he will contest a 1300m BM84. He has drawn out in gate eleven and Michael Poy will ride.
IRISH PLAYBOY relished the wet conditions at The Valley two back. While the form guide suggests the track was a Good 4, I think the track had already deteriorated well into the Soft range. He defied the track pattern to get home strongly from the tail in what was a huge run in the Country Series Final. He didn’t have the best of luck early in the straight at Ballarat last time out but was a touch disappointing by the same token. He’s had two recent jump-outs to keep him up to the mark, the wet track should post no concern and given the rail should be well and truly chopped out come race eight, the wide draw looks no issue.
The distance today is a little short of what he wants, he will be ridden quietly and look to finish off strongly, looking to get wide and we are more hoping to see him finish in the first half of the field than potentially threaten the placings. He will need the run today and we will look to see him at the mile next start.
