The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with BUDD FOX running at Bendigo.
Bendigo – Soft (6)
The track at Bendigo has come up a Soft 6 with the rail out in the 9m position, the same spot it was at the most recent meeting on May 16 when it raced very well.
Race 6 (2.24pm) Apiam Animal Health BM70 Handicap
No.1 BUDD FOX – Dylan Dunn (Barrier 2)
BUDD FOX heads to Bendigo today where he will contest a 3600m BM70. He has drawn gate two and Dylan Dunn will ride.
BUDD FOX’s flat form this preparation has been outstanding for a race like this. He ran a cracking second in a stronger BM78 over the ‘Bool Carnival and had been good at both Sandown and The Valley prior to that. He loves it here at Bendigo and from gate two, Dylan Dunn can lob him in a lovely trailing position. The soft track poses no concern and BUDD FOX only needs to hold his flat form to prove the horse to beat.
There should be a bit of speed in this race given there are a few one pacers in this field that will set the pace, so we will let Dylan let him ride him where he is comfortable which should be close to the speed given his barrier. He has been up a long time now so that might be the only query, but he is bright in himself and he should have most of these covered. He should fill the placings, all going well it will be good enough to be the winner’s stall.
