Henry Dwyer Racing – Saturday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with MISTER MOGUL running at Flemington.

Flemington – Good (4)

Flemington advantaged horses with cover and closer to the inside down the straight last time out but part of that was wind related. The rail goes form the 2m position out to the 5m spot and with some wear on the inside lanes it wouldn’t be a surprise to see riders head middle-to-outside in the straight.

No.3 MISTER MOGUL – Ben Allen (Barrier 4)

MISTER MOGUL heads to Flemington today where he will contest an 1100m BM78. He has drawn gate four and has a very much in-form Ben Allen in the saddle.

MISTER MOGUL is struggling of late but the positive is he hasn’t been beaten that far in his past two at The Valley (in track record time) and Sandown last time out, but he has to turn the tables 4L on WHIPCRACKER WAY just to beat that runner home on their last start efforts, let alone what looks to be a stronger field. Looking for positives, this geldings two strongest ratings from the past twelve months were down the straight in June and July last year, so at least he has a liking for the straight course.

The opposition looks too strong today and we will await for a more suitable race next time, most likely at Swan Hill over a shorter distance, which might be the last in what has been a great career from a horse that has had a few issues.
