The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with COPPER FOX running at Sale in the Maffra Cup.
Sale – Soft (5)
The rail is back to the true having been out 7m at the most recent meeting and with the inside 6m being fresh ground, the track should race very well. Sale is rated a Soft 5 but expect it to improve throughout the day.
Race 7 (3.55pm) Maffra Community Sports Club Maffra Cup BM70
No.1 COPPER FOX – Michael Poy (Barrier 6)
COPPER FOX heads to Sale where he will tackle the 1400 metre Maffra Community Sports Club Maffra Cup (BM70). He has drawn gate six and Michael Poy will ride.
COPPER FOX’s first up run at Wangaratta was great. He flashed home from the tail to run second, posting the 4th best last 600/3rd best last 200m splits of the entire meeting. He loves the sting out of the track so the Soft 5 rating is ideal and from gate six he will stay off the fence and be assured of clean air in the straight, getting back as is his normal racing pattern. His best ratings are as good as anything in this race and his first up effort was pretty much a career peak, so he has come back as well as ever.
This looks a lovely race for COPPER FOX and he will be stalking the favourite GALACTUS who will no doubt look the winner at the 200 metre mark, with COPPER FOX storming home late.
