The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today with BUDD FOX at Sandown.
Racing is on the outer Hillside track which has a lovely, long 490m run into the judge and it’s a track that generally gives all horses their chance. The rail is out 3m having been true at the most recent meeting and with fine weather forecast, expect it to be a Good 3.
Sandown – Good (4)
Race 2 (4.15pm) Thoroughbred Club Handicap
No.1 BUDD FOX – Will Price a(2) (Barrier 11)
BUDD FOX heads to Sandown today where he will tackle a 3000m BM70. He has drawn gate eleven and Will Price will ride with his 2kg claim.
This is BUDD FOX’s distance – the 3000m trip – and he’s a winner at his only go over the over the extended journey here at Hillside. He has been trending reasonably well this preparation and he comes through the same race that a number of key rivals on Wednesday contested at The Valley last start. BUDD FOX had his chance last time out and he needs to find a couple of lengths to turn the tables on FIELD OF LIGHTS and BEACHGOER who quinella’d that race, but he clearly likes it here at Sandown and Will Price’s 2kg claim is hugely valuable given how well he is riding. At peak fitness now, BUDD FOX should be most competitive.
He’s been hard to catch this campaign, but he’s at 100% and he’s as fit as he will get, the blinkers come off and the visor goes on, he will run as well as he possibly can and he can be fighting out the finish.
