The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today at Geelong in HEIR TO THE THRONE.
Geelong – Soft (5)
Race 8 (5pm) Roderick Insurance Brokers BM64 Handicap
No.2 HEIR TO THE THRONE – Damien Thornton (Barrier 3)
HEIR TO THE THRONE heads to Geelong today where he will contest a 1750m BM64. He has drawn gate three and Damien Thornton will ride.
HEIR TO THE THRONE simply got too far back at Bendigo over the mile before working to the line ok in a race dominated on speed. He had jumped-out very well leading into that first up run and he should derive really good fitness benefit from the outing. He has won three from six on heavy ground so hopefully it doesn’t dry out too much from the current rating as it will also take a couple of others out of play. Damien Thornton jumps back on board and he’s 3/6 on the horse and the little step up in trip is ideal.
This is a perfect race for HEIR TO THE THRONE, he won’t get too far back in such a small field and will be just off the leading few, there are really no excuses for him today and he should run well.
