The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today at Caulfield in BUDD FOX.
Caulfield- Good (4)
The track has come up a Good 4 on race morning but the forecast is indifferent with rain and storms expected. Without that rain, the track will get up to a Good 3, but we are in the lap of the weather gods given that forecast. The rail is out 3m having been true at the most recent meeting so they may edge away from the fence as the day goes on and northerly winds are expected to ease around lunchtime and won’t have an impact.

No.2 BUDD FOX – Will Price a(3) (Barrier 12)
BUDD FOX heads to Caulfield today where he will contest a 2380m BM70. He has drawn gate twelve and Will Price will ride with his 3kg claim.
BUDD FOX has been slowly improving into the preparation as he steps out in distance and fourth up last start at this track over 2000m he worked to the line quite well from the tail of the field. He clearly isn’t 100% comfortable at the 2000m tempo so finally getting out to the 2380m today is ideal and he should peak now nearing full fitness. He was a dual BM84 winners at 2400m + last preparation and that sort of form is good enough to be winning a race like this. From the wide draw, he likely settles in the second-half of the field but with a genuine enough tempo likely can run into the race over the concluding stages.
A dry track is his preference so hopefully the rain holds off, he will look to be outside the leader in the first four or five from the barrier and he is a definite chance to win today given he has been set for this and will be at peak fitness.
