The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today at Flemington with STRATESSA and LA FALAISE.
Flemington – Good (4)
Race 6 (5.40pm) Victorian Jockeys Association Trophy
No.16 STRATESSA – Damien Thornton (Barrier 8)
STRATESSA runs at Flemington today where she will tackle a 1400m Fillies and Mares BM70. She has drawn gate eight and Damien Thornton rides.
STRATESSA ran well last start at Sandown after being wide the trip and spending too much petrol and blowing out late, she is significantly better for her two runs this preparation and a decent workload leading into today’s run so she will be running to her peak today. Quietely optimistic that this is her level and that she will acquit herself well, and we will find out a lot about her after today’s run. She will be forward of midfield in the run and we will follow one of the favourites into the race, if we are good enough she will get her chance to be there in the finish.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $41 (as at 8am)

Race 7 (6.20pm) Off The Track Program Handicap
No.2 LA FALAISE – Mel Julius a(3) (Barrier 8)
LA FALAISE also heads to Flemington today where she will run in an 1700m BM70. She has drawn gate eight and Mel Julius will ride.
Keen to get her back to her own age group and class today and at 1700 metres, she’s in good order and will be fitter for the first-up run and she needs to be as she blew out late there. It’s a big ask today being second-up over this distance, but if she can get a nice run in transit midfield or back and not spend any petrol early, she will finish off well without likely being a winning proposition today. Just keen to see her be more competitive today to give us some confidence to continue with the preparation.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $51 (as at 8am)
