Henry Dwyer Racing – Monday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today at Geelong in ARAPILES.

Geelong – Heavy (9)

Race 2 (2pm) Elephant & Castle Hotel 3YO Maiden

No.2 ARAPILES – Damien Thornton (Barrier 3)

ARAPILES heads to Geelong where he will contest a 1347m Maiden. He has drawn gate three and Damien Thornton will ride.

30mm plus of rain overnight at Geelong sees us racing on a Heavy 9 at Geelong today, with the track potentially getting up an upgrade later in the day. There is no real guide on how ARAPILES will handle the conditions, but his breeding suggests he should be ok. He is a very good chance of winning today, but the confidence has taken a hit given the surface and the uncertainty of whether he will handle it. The race has seen a lot of scratchings, with PERFECT ZED and ABREED looking like the two main dangers.

He should settle close to the speed from the gate and if he handles the track, he is every chance to break his maiden today.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $6.50 (as at 8am)
