The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today at Warracknabeal in KAWUNEECHEE and TINSZEL.
Warracknabeal is rated a Good 4 but the forecast for today is grim, with somewhere between 10-30mm of rain set to fall, so that rating could well change. The track itself has raced very well this winter but they did want to get away from the fence on August 29.
Warracknabeal – Good (4)
Race 3 (1.56pm) Warrack Motel Maiden Plate
No.3 KAWUNEECHEE – Lucinda Boyd (Barrier 6)
KAWUNEECHEE heads to Warracknabeal today where he will contest a 2000m Maiden. He has drawn gate six and Lucinda Boyd rides.
This is a very winnable race for KAWUNEECHEE. He was beaten by a potentially handy one in Arcadia King – who was having his first Victorian start – at this track over 1800m a fortnight back. He probably goes a touch better on top of the ground but if the rain comes early in the day he can also get through the wet. He comprehensively beat home a couple of key rivals last start and the step to 2000m shouldn’t pose any concern.
This is KAWUNEECHEE’S race to lose and should have these covered.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $2.40 (as at 8am)

Race 4 (2.35pm) Pony Xpress 0 – 58 Handicap
No.10 TINSZEL – Lucinda Boyd (Barrier 4)
TINSZEL also heads to Warracknabeal where she will tackle a 2000m 0-58. She has drawn gate four and Lucinda Boyd will take the ride.
TINSZEL was most disappointing at Ballarat last start when never getting into the race, albeit in a stronger BM64. She can certainly mix her form but despite winning on the Ballarat Synthetic five starts back, she has gone terribly on the same surface in two subsequent starts. She has had a jump-out between runs, again on the synthetic at Ballarat, where she was hard ridden to win the 1100m hit-out. She is drawn to get a reasonable run in transit provided she jumps cleanly and her best is good enough to be very competitive.
She will stay off the fence out of the barrier and be in the first six and then head wide on the turn given she doesn’t like horses on her outside, she is up to being competitive in this.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $10 (as at 8am)
