Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has one runner today at Sandown in COPPER FOX.

Racing today is on the inner Lakeside track which has a shorter, 400m straight than the Hillside course. The track is currently rated a Soft 6 and with the rail coming back from the 10m spot to the 2m spot that inside 8m of ground will be the place to be and it wouldn’t surprise if those on speed are advantaged. From the 1400m starting point on the track there’s a lovely run into the first bend before they start turning.

Sandown – Soft 6

Race 7 (3.55pm) Ladbrokes Cash In (BM70)

No.2 COPPER FOX – Michael Poy (Barrier 11)

COPPER FOX heads to Sandown today where he will contest a 1400m BM70. He has drawn gate eleven and Michael Poy will ride.

COPPER FOX got back onto a dry track at Ballarat last start and he returned to the winner’s circle in style. He ripped home in the fourth best last 600m split of the meeting to win comfortably, beating a very good synthetic horse in Design Rouge. This is a much tougher race, but there looks to be good speed on paper which should help to offset the wide draw and ensure COPPER FOX gets his chance late.

Hopefully the track today allows winners to come from the back and if that’s the case he should run into the money somewhere.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9.50 (as at 8am)
