The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has four runners today at Warrnambool with FOREVER LOUD, BAIT ZAIN, KAWUNEECHE and GALAXY GHOST going around.
Warrnambool is absolutely waterlogged and has been a Heavy 10 for some weeks now and with showers forecast today, it will be really testing conditions. However, it is one of the best wet-weather tracks in the state and with the rail back to the true, you would expect the inside to hold up for a reasonable portion of the meeting.
Warrnambool – Heavy (10)
Race 1 (1pm) Matko Hire Maiden Plate
No.2 FOREVER LOUD – Damien Thornton (Barrier 1)
FOREVER LOUD heads to Warrnambool today where he will tackle an 1100m Maiden. He has drawn gate one and Damien Thornton will ride.
FOREVER LOUD has the ability to win a race like this if he brings his best. He covered a bit of ground and was in the worst part of the track at Wangaratta so happy to excuse that effort. Last start he bombed the kick a touch and covered some ground on the synthetic at Ballarat, but was moderate late by the same token. The blinkers and a tongue tie go on here which can hopefully see him recapture his best and the soft track shouldn’t pose any concerns, so there’s a few things going this gelding’s way.
Grass is more suitable than the synthetic last time, he needs to show something today after his last couple of starts, if he brings his best he can win but it depends on which FOREVER LOUD turns up.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $6 (as at 8am)

Race 2 (1.30pm) Sungold Milk Maiden Plate
No.5 BAIT ZAIN – John Allen (Barrier 6)
BAIT ZAIN also heads to Warrnambool today where she will tackle a 1400m Maiden. She has drawn gate six and John Allen retains the ride.
BAIT ZAIN looks like she will appreciate the rise in distance from 1200 to 1400m and she battled on OK in a fairly strong maiden that was dominated up on speed at Moe last start. She was just ‘fair’ at Seymour the start prior, but the way she got through that heavy track at Moe last start gives hope she can fire at the ‘Bool. From gate six, she should get a nice run just behind the speed and this isn’t a deep maiden.
Track and distance suit and gun jockey on board, she is every chance to run a competitive race.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $11 (as at 8am)

Race 3 (2pm) Ace Radio Maiden Plate
No.4 KAWUNEECHE – John Allen (Barrier 7)
KAWUNEECHEE is our third runner today at Warrnambool where he will tackle a 2000m Maiden. He has drawn gate seven and John Allen will ride.
KAWUNEECHEE is quickly up in trip from the mile to 2000m after two runs over the middle distance. He should be at peak fitness and he did run the best race of his short career on a heavy track at Moe last start, so the Heavy 10 won’t pose any concerns. He just kept going at the one pace at Moe last start which bodes well for the 2000m and getting up to this sort of trip, he should be more forward in the run and use his ability to grind away to really test his rivals.
A really good chance today in what looks like a very winnable race.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $4.50 (as at 8am)

Race 7 (4pm) Vale Rob Gaylard BM64 Handicap
No.9 GALAXY GHOST – Damien Thornton (Barrier 5)
GALAXY GHOST is our final runner at Warrnambool today where he will contest a 1400m BM64. He has drawn gate five and Damien Thornton will ride.
GALAXY GHOST draws a better gate today and from gate five he can position up in the first-half of the field and enjoy a much better run in transit than he did at this track and trip last start. That was his first go at the distance this preparation and he will be better for it. If he’d just settle a little better in the run he’d probably find a length or two, but despite that he is still going well enough to be competitive here with a soft run in transit.
Strips fitter after last run and with a few gallops in between and he is ready to fire today.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9 (as at 8am)
