MANHATTAN STING heads to Echuca today where he will contest a 1300m Class 1 Handicap. He has drawn gate seven and will have Michael Poy in the saddle.
A number of scratchings has given MANHATTAN STING a chance to run today after being fourth emergency, with some significant runners out of the race. It is still a strong enough race for a Sunday at Echuca, but we are right in the market and he is a good chance today. We are still a little cautious with this 3YO in terms of our handling of him as he can work himself up sometimes, so we have kept him fresh with some track gallops with a partner and pacework on the treadmill. He may be first-up today according to the form guide, but he has been kept in work most of that time.
Michael Poy should have him just off the speed and he should run a good race today and be in the first three.
