The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has three runners today at Caulfield in GIMME THE GOSS, UNDER OATH and REGARDSMAREE.
Caulfield is rated a Good 4, which is a change for several horses on Saturday that have done recent racing on wet tracks. Light winds are forecast which won’t impact racing and with the rail out 5m, those on speed will likely have an edge.
Caulfield – Good (4)
Race 5 (2.25pm) Elizabeth Mooney Handicap
No.6 GIMME THE GOSS – Michael Rodd (Barrier 14)
GIMME THE GOSS heads to Caulfield today where she will contest a 1200m 3YO Fillies Handicap. She has drawn out in gate fourteen and Michael Rodd will ride.
GIMME THE GOSS has drawn the carpark but she does have the tactical speed to roll forward along with BEATRIX (7), SHUSH (3) and maybe KIMBERLEY SPIRIT (13). They shouldn’t go overly hard and that gives GIMME THE GOSS a chance to get a lovely run out of the chute start and even if she does cover a little ground early, they only have one bend to navigate. She has the tongue tie going on here after a moderate effort at Sandown last start and she will enjoy getting away from damp tracks.
She is in really good order and going really well and hopefully she proves that today as she hasn’t at her last couple of starts on the wet tracks. Her best is good enough to see her in the finish and is over the odds in what is a competitive race.

Race 8 (4.20pm)Laurelle Owens Vobis Gold Stayers
No.8 UNDER OATH – Damien Thornton (Barrier 4)
UNDER OATH also heads to Caulfield where he will contest a 2394m VOBIS Gold Stayers race. He has drawn gate four and Damien Thornton will ride.
UNDER OATH’S last start at The Valley was disappointing, albeit that was a very heavy track and it may have brought him undone. He is drawn to get a perfect run in transit here and he was going very well before getting to Sandown two back. The best of his performances this campaign were on Good ground in the Casterton Cup so getting back on firmer ground at Caulfield may be a plus. This isn’t an overly strong race and if UNDER OATH can run out the trip he can be most competitive.
He looks a picture and is extremely bright in himself and while the soft ground is preferred he has won on a good surface. He maps to get a good run and could well be in the box seat from the barrier, if he can stay the distance then he can certainly win what is a very open race.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $16 (as at 8am)

Race 9 (4.53pm) Neds Bet Back Handicap
No.8 REGARDSMAREE – Jamie Kah (Barrier 9)
REGARDSMAREE is our final runner at Caulfield where he will contest a 1400m 3YO Handicap. He has drawn gate nine and Jamie Kah will ride. .
REGARDSMAREE has drawn awkwardly out in nine but what he does have in his favour is tactical speed and in a race lacking much early tempo he can work forward out of the 1400m start. He gets back into dry ground here and should strip fitter after having nearly six-weeks between runs into Sandown last start after being a late scratching at Geelong. 1400m will suit and he will roll forward and should get a reasonable run in transit.
We aren’t that well in here on the weights and there’s a clear horse to beat in MYSTERY SHOT, but REGARDSMAREE’S best can see him competitive after a bit of a luckless campaign.
