The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today at Ladbrokes Park Hillside in THE BLACK LEOPARD and MOSCOW RED.
The track is rated a Soft 7 and with fine weather forecast it certainly won’t go backwards; if anything it might improve to a Soft 6. Racing is on the more spacious Hillside track that features a long, 490m home straight and with the rail out 12m, I suspect they will use plenty of the home straight.
Sandown – Soft (7)
Race 6 (3.20pm) Jeffrey Armstrong Handicap
No.8 THE BLACK LEOPARD – Georgina Cartwright a(2) (Barrier 4)
THE BLACK LEOPARD heads to Ladbrokes Park Hillside today where he will contest an 1800m BM84. He will jump from gate four and Georgina Cartwright will ride.
THE BLACK LEOPARD led at a very slow tempo at this track and trip in arguably a weaker BM84 last start when he was a touch weak over the last 100m. That said, he was seven-weeks between runs heading into that run last start and should derive really good benefit from the hit-out. He should get a nice run here from a very soft gate, camping off a hot tempo, which should give him every chance.
He should be running on well late and be in there fighting it out at the finish.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $6.5 (as at 8am)

No.2 MOSCOW RED – Will Price a(3) (Barrier 4)
MOSCOW RED also heads to Ladbrokes Park Hillside where she will tackle a 1600m Fillies and Mares BM78. She has drawn gate four and Will Price will take the ride.
MOSCOW RED is going to lob into a lovely spot, handy to the speed in a race there doesn’t look to be a lot of tempo. She’s racing consistently well in these grade of races and she continues to be the beneficiary of wet tracks. She is up to BM78 grade here but tackles just the fillies and mares, who she was able to beat at BM70 level three starts back.
She’s a winning hope and only needs to hold her form to figure in the finish.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9.50 (as at 8am)
