Murtoa – Heavy (8)

Race 1 (12.30pm)  Tac Be Races Ready 3yo Maiden Plate

No.9 HAYLEY’S LIGHTNING – Michael Poy (Barrier 9)

HAYLEY’S LIGHTNING heads to Murtoa to tackle a 3YO Maiden over 1100m with Michael Poy onboard.

This 3YO daughter of Fighting Sun is having her third career start today after a long spell. Her jumpout on the Ballarat Synthetic recently was nice enough and her two runs last campaign, particularly her first run, both had merit. She’s a very straightforward filly whose work has been good and she isn’t fully wound up yet and would be about 85% fit.

Ability wise she can definitely win a race like this and while she will run competitively today, she will be better for the experience.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $9 (as at 8am)

Race 6 (3pm) Chs Group Horsham Bm58 Handicap

No.5 THE DOMINATOR – Emily Brown a(3) (Barrier 9)

THE DOMINATOR takes on a BM58 at Murtoa today over 2050m with Emily Brown on board claiming 3kg which brings him down to 59kg after the claim.

Scratched from The Valley yesterday due to being an emergency, THE DOMINATOR is heading to a steeple race at Pakenham on Sunday, so today will be a good pipe opener for that. He is in good order and he is very bright and sound in himself and always gives his best on the flat with an eye to the jumps.

He will benefit from today’s run greatly but isn’t a betting proposition.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $41 (as at 8am)
