Henry Dwyer Racing – Friday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today at Pakenham, with PEACE BROTHER and HONORABLE MENTION.

Racing is on the synthetic track at Pakenham which has been a bit of a mixed bag of late, so loathed to make any track predictions.

Pakenham – All Weather Track

Race 5 (2.30pm) Evergreen Turf Bm64 Handicap

No.3 PEACE BROTHER – Jordan Childs (Barrier 8)

PEACE BROTHER will contest a 2200m BM64 and has drawn gate eight with Jordan Childs to ride.

PEACE BROTHER has been racing in good heart and he got a well-deserved victory over the 2100m at Ballarat last start when getting a soft lead and holding on strongly over the concluding stages. This is a much tougher assignment up to a pretty strong BM64 but he’s fit and racing well. He has led at his past couple but with MR MONACO in the race he might be best served taking a sit off that galloper here as he really likes to roll.

He will look the winner at some stage, it’s just whether he can hold on against some quality opposition today.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $7.50 (as at 8am)

Race 8 (4pm) Meluca Group Bm64 Handicap

No.3 HONORABLE MENTION – Ben Allen (Barrier 2)

HONORABLE MENTION will tackle a 1400m BM64, has drawn gate two and Ben Allen will ride.

HONORABLE MENTION didn’t handle the wet track first-up and has been given six-weeks to get over that. He jumped-out really well on the synthetic at Ballarat between runs and he looks ideally suited back in grade. His best is certainly good enough to win a race like this and the likely strong tempo should allow him to get into a great rhythm. He’s has been backed in already from $18 and I think he is still decent odds for this race.

Needs to have even luck and get some momentum running home but he is a great chance to win today.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $12 (as at 8am)
