Henry Dwyer Racing – Tuesday Preview

The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has three runners today at Ballarat on the All Weather Track, with TELEKINESIS, OCEAN ARC and TINSZEL all going around.

The Ballarat Synthetic has been racing very well this season with horses able to win from all parts of the field. Generally speaking, on days with light winds – as is the forecast today – it’s advantageous to be up on speed.

Ballarat – All Weather Track

Race 1 (12.30pm) Eureka Concrete 3yo Maiden Plate

No.8 TELEKINESIS – Georgina Cartwright (Barrier 8)

TELEKINESIS heads to Ballarat today where he will contest an 1100m Maiden. He has drawn gate eight and Georgina Cartwright will take the ride.

TELEKINESIS has been freshened-up since running fourth in a hot form race behind Our Musketeer and A Lone Hero on a heavy track at Pakenham. His recent jump-out win on this surface was excellent, closing strongly and seeming very confident in the going. It’s noteworthy that he goes to a dry surface on the synthetic and his rating on top of the ground first-up at Hamilton was the best run of his three last preparation. He will likely get a fair way back here form the wide draw but this is easily the weakest race he has contested.

The favourite in PAL’S REWARD looks very hard to beat but watch for our bloke charging late.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $3.60 (as at 8am)

Race 7 (3.30pm) Hygain Winners Choice Bm58 Handicap

No.2 OCEAN ARC – Laura Lafferty a(2) (Barrier 6)

OCEAN ARC also heads to Ballarat where he will contest a 1200m BM58. He has drawn gate six and Laura Lafferty will ride.

OCEAN ARC has jumped-out nicely at both Burrumbeet and Ballarat on the synthetic track for this return to the track. He looks to be back in very good order and he has more upside than most of his rivals. I suspect he is going to be better over a touch further than 1200m as the campaign unfolds, but this is a lovely kick-off point and potentially a winnable race for the gelding.

In saying that, I think he will need the run today before being a betting prospect next start.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $10 (as at 8am)

Race 9 (4.30pm) Hygain Winners Choice Bm58 Handicap

No.9 TINSZEL – Georgina Cartwright (Barrier 10)

TINSZEL is our third runner at Ballarat today where she will contest a 1500m BM58. She has drawn gate ten and Georgina Cartwright will ride.

TINSZEL is chasing back-to-back wins and she certainly strikes a winnable BM58 here. She didn’t beat much at this track over 1400m last start but the manner of the win was strong and the step in trip looks ideal. Her two runs this campaign have rated as well as any of her career performances to date and there’s no reason to think she doesn’t have improvement to come third-up. The wide draw will see her drift back but that wasn’t a concern last start and provided the track is playing reasonably then she will come into play late.

She is probably my best chance of the three runners today.

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $5 (as at 8am)
