Henry Dwyer land his first jumps winner??
Henry Dwyer is already a two-time Group 1 winner, but he achieved a new first on Sunday when he trained his first winner over the jumps.
Saddling up Caroun in the Jono’s Sight, Sound & Communications Rookie Jumpers Hurdle Heat 10, Dwyer got the prize thanks to a terrific ride from Tom Ryan.
The hoop was patient, going back to last early and saving every inch of ground, hugging the rail and working his way through the field to prevail by a half length.
Ryan’s ride proved the difference as the $15 chance prevailed over the favourite Fledged ($2.40) andI’ll’ava’alf ($3.20).
Ryan was delighted with the result.
In the other jumps races of the day, King of the Forest continued his good form, prevailing in thesteeplechase while Aaron Purcell’s Judge Jeuny landed his second consecutive victory over the obstacles.
