Henry Dwyer Racing – Friday Preview

Terang

Race 4 – Hard To Go Wrong

Jockey – John Allen

1400m – Barrier 1

Improving galloper Hard To Go Wrong gets blinkers for the first time at Terang this afternoon. The gelded son of Epaulette has been sound in two runs back from a spell, making good ground from the tail at Pakenham over this trip last time out. Jockey John Allen leaves from the inside and can land in a lovely position behind the leaders, before looking to edge out and run on in the home straight.

Speed is drawn towards the outside with Tikken, Matter Most and Gin Baba all to roll across in the early parts, while expect Jack Be Flash to hold its spot nearer the inside heading into the bend. Gin Baba shapes as the hardest to beat in this, coming off consecutive runner-up performances over this distance. She’s started a short-priced favourite on those occasions and will again today, but couldn’t possibly dive in at an odds-on quote. Tempo and track pattern will be key in the chances for Tikken, who will attempt to lead throughout, while Galpin will be running on from the back. Both with each way claims. Hard to see anything else winning here.

Hard To Go Wrong should receive an ideal run throughout, hoping to find the right part of the track to make his move in the home straight. His closing effort at Pakenham was solid, any improvement from there sees him right in the finish today. This looks a very winnable race for him.

Currently, Hard To Go Wrong is a $3 chance in the market.
