BIVOUAC X GSTAAD (F)

What a beautiful filly by promising young sire Bivouac, out of a half-sister to multiple Group One winning mare Loving Gaby. Purchased at this week’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale for $115k+GST, the filly possesses all the attributes we look for to be at the races at two, then stretch out to 1600m at three.

Bred by renowned Hunter Valley nursery Corumbene Stud, the filly is out of the Sebring mare Gstaad, who only raced once, starting second favourite in the G2 Reisling Slipper Trial off the back of two impressive trials. She ran credibly however wasn’t seen on a racetrack again after hurting herself. Much like her Champion 3yo Filly of Australia sister Loving Gaby, Gstaad was an expensive yearling who obviously had good ability. When it was realised the filly wasn’t going to make it back to the races she was sold through the National Broodmare Sale for $500k and has subsequently commenced her breeding career, with this being her second foal. The first foal, a filly by Deep Field is yet to enter training. Being so well related, every female in the family is being bred up to the best stallions in the country, hence there’s every chance this filly’s pedigree is going to explode with black type over the next 3-4 years.

Neither Bivouac or dam sire Sebring are overly renowned for producing precocious ‘sales’ types however they have belied that fact in producing this filly, who is strong, forward and oozes class. We feel the $115k she was purchased for massively undervalues her prospects on the track and her potential residual value post racing.

A 10% share, inclusive of purchase price, GST, vetting, insurance and agent’s commission will cost $14,478.
