Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

Swan Hill

Race 1 – Lupine

Jockey – Harry Coffey

2400m – Barrier 7

Four-year-old galloper Lupine looks to bounce back at Swan Hill today, getting out to 2400-metres for the first time in his career. The gelded son of Tivaci had excuses last time out at Ballarat, galloped-on in the run and battling away gamely when entitled to drop right out. Jockey Harry Coffey rides from gate seven this afternoon, with a long run to the first bend to find a forward position on settling.

Speed is drawn inside and out, with His Zedness to use the inside and punch through from the outset, while expect There For You to roll across from the extreme outside and have a look in the early parts. Last start winner Luna Chara gets in well after an apprentice claim, boasting a win at this track and trip in December. She was a bit plain here two starts back behind a dominant winner, but the runner-up has since won up in grade at Donald last weekend. Should get a soft trail behind the speed and have something to offer late. Hardest to beat. His Zedness has been good his past three starts, up to this distance looks ideal today. Each way claims. So too Salassi, who is suited back to this company after an okay effort at Bendigo last time out.

Lupine finds a suitable race today, improvement expected given his affliction in the run at Ballarat. He can bowl along on-speed and control the race throughout, giving them something to chase in the home straight. If he settles in the run, he has strong each way claims.

Currently, Lupine is a $3.80 chance in the market.
