Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday Preview

Kyneton

Race 4 – Almonti

Jockey – Jamie Mott

1850m – Barrier 6

Dundeel gelding Almonti comes back to BM64 grade when he heads to Kyneton this afternoon. The five-year-old galloper was just okay in the Avoca Cup last time out, but his previous three starts read well for a race like this. Jockey Jamie Mott rides from gate six of eight today, looking to roll forward in the early parts and find a position on or just behind the speed heading into the back.

Procureable has drawn the outside barrier and will push forward from the outset, while expect Yorkel to punch through from the middle and be in the first few on settling. Procureable looks suited out to this trip third-up, following two sound efforts to begin her preparation. She beat home Macy Moon last start, that galloper has since won a similar contest to this. Hardest to beat. Platinum Destroyer drops in class having been sound at Caulfield behind Extreme Virtue last start. He’ll get back and need luck at the right time, but will be hitting the line hard. Strong claims. Concede each way chances to Eishaa and Yorkel, who will be at opposite ends of the field throughout.

Almonti gets back on top of the ground today and should be afforded every chance from up near the speed. His recent efforts at Geelong are good enough to go close in this, but he does need to bounce back from last time out. No surprise to see him right in the thick of things.

Currently, Almonti is a $7 chance in the market.
