Henry Dwyer Racing – Sunday Preview

Mount Gambier

Race 5 – Wuddzz

Jockey – Alysha Warren

3150m – Barrier 5

Seven-year-old galloper Wuddzz gets the wet track he’s been searching for when he stretches out to 3150-metres at Mount Gambier this afternoon. The gelded son of Complacent has been racing well on unsuitable tracks this preparation, placing three of his past four runs, with the runner-up effort behind Dashing Duchess good form for a race like today’s. Apprentice hoop Alysha Warren claims 3kg and can land in the first four in running, able to put herself into the race from the outset.

Not much speed to speak of, but expect Senor Uno to boot through and use the inside alley to his advantage, while King Of Avalon won’t be far away on settling. Mr Lincoln has found himself a long way from the leaders in two runs this campaign, rallying late to hit the line strongly on both occasions. He beat Wuddzz home last start at Sandown and out to this trip looks ideal third-up from a spell. The one to beat. Smiling Assassin has been as consistent as ever of late, in the money six times from his past eight outings. Ran on okay behind a moderate one last start, but up in distance is in his favour. Each way claims. So too Eaglelou, who beat home Smiling Assassin last start. Senor Uno next best if left alone in front.

Wuddzz gets conditions to suit today and is another who will relish the extra distance on offer. Winkers replace blinkers in a bid to get his to settle better in the run, and he gets in well following Alysha’s claim. In a race of few chances, he’s one of the main hopes.

Currently, Wuddzz is a $5 chance in the market.
