Echuca
Race 3 – Three Reel Roses
Jockey – Alysha Warren
1300m – Barrier 3
Highland Reel filly Three Reel Roses makes her racetrack debut at Echuca this afternoon. The promising three-year-old has jumped out twice in preparation for today, her latest a pleasing effort at Burrumbeet when always travelling well on the speed over 1000-metres. Apprentice hoop Alysha Warren rides from gate three today and can let her filly settle where comfortable, finding cover midfield before finishing off in the home straight.
Anchor Down looks the most likely leader in this from towards the outside, while Torvecchio can boot through from the inside and hold its spot in the early parts. This galloper has had two career starts and looks set to improve third-up today. She can use the inside alley to her advantage and out to 1300-metres suits. One of the main hopes. Anchor Down will get every chance from the front in a race without too much obvious speed. His past two starts have been solid, a repeat effort sees him in the mix here. Each way chances to Dubai Watch, who was sound from the tail on debut, and Grunnettan, who has jumped out well for his debut.
Three Reel Roses will improve from the run today and be better suited out over more ground later in her preparation. She draws for a lovely run just off the speed here, and if Alysha can get her to settle in transit, she can run on in the home straight. Each way claims with improvement to come.
Currently, Three Reel Roses is an $18 chance in the market.
