Henry Dwyer Racing – Wednesday Preview

Ballarat

Race 4 – Jayveekay

Jockey – Eoin Walsh

1600m – Barrier 4

Resuming mare Jayveekay kicks off over a mile on her home track this afternoon. The four-year-old daughter of Manhattan Rain has jumped out soundly in preparation for today, running through the line well at Ararat under little riding at her latest and is suited at a mile first-up. Jockey Eoin Walsh rides from gate four and can let his mare settle where comfortable in the run, looking to pick-up and run on late in a pointer for more ground next time out.

A host of scratchings have taken some of the early sting out of the race leaving the battle for the front
open, with One Sided Love able to punch forward from the centre, and perhaps Infringement can take closer order from towards the inside. Futatsu closed well when out to this trip at Pakenham last start, finding only one better and leaving a gap to third on that occasion. Can’t dive in at the short odds but only needs to hold that form to very prove hard to beat today. One Sided Love has finished third at all three starts this campaign and is ready for the step-up in distance here. She can give a sight if allowed to roll along in front. Infringement has some ability and the mile should suit, while Yarraman and Finnhugh have jumped out well enough to have top four claims.

Jayveekay will be appreciate more ground later in her campaign but finds a suitable starting point at home today. She should receive a lovely run throughout and present to run home in the straight, able to pass a few and hit the line strongly. Top four chance.

Currently, Jayveekay is a $41 chance in the market.
