Race 3 – Pressure Cooker

Resuming galloper Pressure Cooker kicks off his preparation over 1300-metres at Geelong this afternoon. The gelded son of Adelaide was sound at three runs in his three-year-old campaign, and has had just one jumpout in readiness for today’s race. Jockey Mitch Aitken rides from barrier ten and will drift back in the early parts, looking to finish off late in the piece.
Speed comes from Crystanado in the centre, with Parnassus and Go Irish to have a look for the lead before the home bend. Elvis draws the inside and comes here off an unlucky run at Warracknabeal last start. He was given no hope from back in the field there but made good ground once clear very late in the home straight. His effort behind Skiing the start prior reads well for this. Big chance if he steps cleanly. Crystanado resumes on the back of a solid jumpout performance, having shown promise in his first campaign. He improved second-up last time but the jumpout suggests he’s going well. Concede each way chances to Injair, who was good when fresh at this track a fortnight ago, and Fighting Edge, who will surely bounce back from an ordinary effort at Pakenham.
Pressure Cooker will improve on whatever he does today, suited over more ground later in his preparation. He’ll find these too slick at the distance, but look for him to be warming up late.

Race 5 – Savvy Bee

Four-year-old mare Savvy Bee comes back to 1500-metres this afternoon at Geelong. The daughter of Savabeel didn’t see out the mile trip last start, but had been racing well in two start prior and has an opportunity to bounce back today. Jockey Mitch Aitken leaves from the inside alley and will look to leave cleanly, able to control the race from the front.
Speed has been impacted by scratchings, leaving Luna Diva, Diamanda and Matthew Mark as the most likely challengers for the top in the early stages. Very even race. The Woke Waiter comes here fitter on the back of a good fresh performance at this track a fortnight ago. He was runner-up behind Another Wil second-up last preparation, that’s good enough to be very competitive in this. Zambezi Khan was solid first-up behind Coco Sun and comes back a notch in grade this afternoon. Drawn awkwardly but will be working home late. Each way chances to Enxuto and Steal The Sun, no surprise to see either come out on top in an open affair.
Savvy Bee is suited back in trip here after seemingly having every chance to finish off last start. Previous runs are good enough to feature heavily in this. Strong each way claims if her manners are on point.

Race 6 – Imapagethree Girl

Resuming mare Imapagethree Girl kicks off her campaign at Geelong this afternoon. The four-year-old daughter of Press Statement is unbeaten from two fresh runs in her career and looked good in a recent Ballarat jumpout, pointing to a forward performance today. Jockey Jarrod Fry rides from barrier two and can enjoy a lovely trail behind the speed, hooking out to finish off in the home straight.
Speed comes from the outside with Francine to begin fast and look to cross the field, while Steel Jimmy will kick-up and hold his position from gate three to make her work for the front. Steel Jimmy was solid at Stawell last start when not beaten far in stronger grade. He draws for the right run and can be in this for a long way. No wins on turf the knock on him. Triumphantly was okay when fresh and always improves second-up. Each way claims. So too Explosive Thinker, who has been racing well without winning. No surprise to see him in the finish. Moor Mumm next best.
Imapagethree Girl finds a winnable race first-up today, looking to keep her perfect fresh record in tact. Her jumpout was encouraging and she should receive a lovely run throughout here. Strong claims.
