Henry Dwyer Racing – Friday preview

Kyneton

Race 1 – Overclassy

Jockey – Mitch Aitken

1100m – Barrier 1

Speedy filly Overclassy has her first start for the Dwyer camp today in an 1100-metre dash on soft ground at Kyneton. The daughter of Overshare won a recent trial on a heavy deck at Ararat, pairing off with another runner out in front before pulling herself over the line late. Jockey Mitch Aitken jumps from the inside gate and will hold a forward position without bustling her too much. Speed map is tricky with a number of first-starters but it’s usually advantageous to be near the speed around this circuit so expect a few to press forward early. Plenty of chances here but Cover Star looks the runner over the odds. First-up from a long spell but looks to have ability, the stable willing to throw her in the deep end during her two-year-old season. Drawn for a good run and will be thereabouts. Glowlight was good on debut, having a good run and just missing on the line. Any improvement from that and she’s right in this. Concede a chance to Extreme Ally who’s been running well without winning and Golde ‘N’ Fire has been sound enough at the jumpouts. Overclassy had one start in the spring, fading from the lead late but an encouraging debut all the same. She’ll show natural speed again today and if she settles in the run can be there for longer this time around. An each way chance in an open race.

Currently, Overclassy is a $16 chance in the market.
