Alors Tu Crois arrives in the nick of time

Four-year-old mare Alors Tu Crois won a cliffhanger at Kyneton over the weekend, getting her nose down on the line to score by the barest of margins first-up at 1450-metres from a spell. The daughter of So You Think was the first runner off the bridle in the run, jockey Mitch Aitken going to work from the 600-metre mark to get everything out of his mare in the closing stages. The Henry Dwyer-trained galloper kept fighting and was strong in the final furlong, racing in restricted room but sticking her neck out to score in a tight four-way photo. Aitken was pleased with his runner post-race. “She was very good today – very tough.

“She got the run through at the right time and she was good”.

Trainer Dwyer was equally impressed with his mare’s performance. “She never really looked like she was going to win until the last little bit and she really attacked the line and got over them late.

“That’s a very good sign for a horse with a wind ailment, to be strong at the finish”.

Alors Tu Crois will step out to 1800-metres for her next start, heading to Sandown for a fillies and mares benchmark-64 contest in two weeks time.
