Geelong
Race 7 – Wuddzz
Jockey – Jaylah Kennedy
1440m – Barrier 4
Resuming five-year-old Wuddzz kicks off his autumn campaign at Geelong this afternoon. The gelded son of Complacent was given a quiet time at a recent Colac jumpout and will find today’s trip well short of his preferred distance range. Apprentice hoop Jaylah Kennedy claims 4kg and will ride quietly from a good draw, looking to wind up and finish the race off late. The race has thinned out due to scratchings leaving Kermy as the market leader. He’s a consistent galloper but hasn’t graced the winner’s stall for over twelve months, leaving the door ajar for Battaglia who just missed Elmore Lad last start. He was well back turning for home on that occasion and flew home over 1300-metres. He can settle closer to the speed today and should enjoy the slight rise in distance. Interesting runner is Our Maverick who is first-up for a new stable. Formerly with team Hawkes, he has jumped out well in preparation for this. Wuddzz will improve from whatever he does today as he steps out over more ground further into his preparation. Look for him to be getting warm late.
Currently, Wuddzz is a $5 chance in the market.
