Great Western
Race 1 – Lily Luella
Jockey – Tahlia Hope
1600m – Barrier 4
Three-year-old filly Lily Luella steps out for her third race start today, nearing peak fitness for this 1600-metre contest. The daughter of Siyouni ran a distant fourth at Terang three weeks ago at her first go at a mile and will take great benefit from that outing. She strikes a similar race today and jockey Tahlia Hope will want to take a more forward position in the run on a track that generally favours leaders and those with inside running. The market has installed Maher/Eustace runner Flying Emmy as favourite, but chances must go to locals Ibutho and Perficere who are both racing well. Lily Luella is presented with a chance to collect some prizemoney today and if the breaks go her way, a top-three finish beckons.
Currently, Lily Luella is a $14 chance in the market.
