Bordertown
Race 1 – Quick Fingers
Jockey – Jess Eaton
1100m – Barrier 3
Three-year-old filly Quick Fingers is second-up at Bordertown today in a race that looks well within her means. The daughter of Caravaggio ran well fresh at Bendigo in a stronger event and is drawn to get all the favours in South Australia this afternoon. Jockey Jess Eaton can take a forward position and with even luck should prove very hard to beat. All Clubs shapes as the main danger but has had a few chances to win of late without getting the job done. This presents as a golden opportunity for the Dwyer filly to break her maiden.
Currently, Quick Fingers is a $2.90 chance in the market.
Race 2 – Leolaine
Jockey – Stacey Callow
1300m – Barrier 8
Speedy galloper Leolaine drops back to 1300-metres today hoping to breakthrough for a maiden win at start number nine. The four-year-old mare has been brave on-speed at her past couple, finishing third at Donald and Naracoorte when only surrendering the lead late. She has an excellent opportunity to turn her good form into a win today with Bordertown’s short run home favouring those inclined to race handy. Andrew Bobbin has Boadicea engaged here and looms as a threat, while Private Jet will start favourite after a good run at Warrnambool. Stacey Callow claims 2kg on the Dwyer runner who can be in this race for a long way.
Currently, Leolaine is a $6.50 chance in the market.
