All eyes turn to Murray Bridge for the a promising debutant in Ballarat stable today.
Murray Bridge
Race 4 – Steller Eagle
Jockey – Jess Eaton
900m – Barrier 12
Three-year-old filly Steller Eagle makes her racetrack debut today over the 900-metre scamper at Murray Bridge. This daughter of Russian Revolution has been kept quiet at recent jumpouts and strikes a race with plenty of unknown commodities this afternoon. Half the field are stepping out on raceday for the first time, while only a couple of horses with race experience look a chance to breakthrough here. Jockey Jess Eaton will leave from an outside barrier, but the long run to the bend will allow her to find cover in the three/four-wide line should she snag back from the start. Best of the raced brigade looks to be Crown Moshe for Hickmott and Riggs, but the Dwyer runner must be in consideration when looking through the debutants.
From the trainer:
Nine-hundred metres is ideal, I don’t think drawing wide matters.
I think she goes quite well…this is a moderate maiden.
If she’s city class she wants to be winning a race like this with even luck first-up, and I think she’s a good chance of doing so.
Currently, Steller Eagle is a $10 chance in the market.
