Henry Dwyer Racing – Saturday preview

Moscow Red headed west on the highway this week, the Henry Dwyer stable identifying a winnable race at Morphettville on Saturday.

Race 8 – Moscow Red

Jockey – Logan McNeil

Barrier – 13

Stable veteran, Moscow Red, is in search of Adelaide riches when she confronts a benchmark-58 contest over a mile at Morphettville. Lumped with 62.5kg from the handicapper, jockey Logan McNeil will claim every ounce of his 3kg allowance as the nine-year-old mare enjoys a significant drop in class from her recent runs. The track is likely to be in the heavy range come race eight, conditions that will almost certainly suit this nine-time winning daughter of Road To Rock, and the wide draw is of no concern given this mare’s racing pattern. Dwyer has given his runner a freshen up since a disappointing effort last start, but will only need to run up to her previous win at Sandown to be in the money on Morphett Road. The main dangers in the race look to be the Richards/Moyle runner, Turfitt, and maiden galloper, Stadium Of Light, who was very good on debut but is racing out of his class here for Michael Hickmott.

From the trainer:

Very, very well placed in benchmark-58 grade.

Plenty of rain forecast over there and we’re going to be on a heavy track, so there’s so many ticks for Moscow Red.

I’d be surprised if, barring incident, that she proves very, very hard to beat.

Currently, Moscow Red represents value as a $5 second favourite in an open betting race.
