Henry Dwyer Racing – Monday Preview

The HDR stable has one runners today in STAR OF MANHATTAN at Ballarat Synthetic.

Ballarat Synthetic

The Ballarat Synthetic track has raced reasonably well so far this season and with northwesterly winds forecast to make it tough for those on speed I suspect backmarkers will get their chance, provided the tempo and talent are there.(Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

No.9 STAR OF MANHATTAN- Mitch Aitken (Barrier 14)

STAR OF MANHATTAN (14) heads to Ballarat on Monday where she will contest an 1100m BM58 (Race 8, 4.30pm). She has drawn gate fourteen and Mitch Aitken will ride.

STAR OF MANHATTAN had no luck at Moe last start and she looks ready to win dropping back to what is a moderate BM58. She had an issue two starts back at Morphettville but her first-up run at Ballarat was super in a handy BM64 and I really liked how she jumped out heading into Moe last start. She is drawn out and likely to settle off speed but the strong tempo should offset that map and with even luck, I think she’s clearly the horse to beat.(Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

STAR OF MANHATTAN returns to the races on the synthetic track on her home track. She carries a heavy weight but the other challengers carry similar weight. There is a big question on her barrier manners of late and hopefully with the wide draw, she won’t be standing for to long, If she settles and can jump away well then we envision her to be in the first half of the field and finishing off strongly. On form, she is capable of taking this out.(Stable)
