Henry Dwyer Racing – Friday Preview

The HDR stable has two runners today in SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH and KASAMI at Ballarat Synthetic.

Ballarat Synthetic

Racing on Friday is on the synthetic track where there has been two meetings so far this season: the first meeting was dominated on speed but that quickly evened out on Monday where plenty of horses made ground down the middle. Generally speaking, these synthetic tracks play pretty well and I’d expect that to be the case on Friday.(Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

Race 2 (1:30 pm)   AJM Contracting 4YO+ Maiden Plate 1400m

No.9 BAD BOY BOBBY- John Allen (Barrier 3)

SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH (3) heads to Ballarat on Friday where she will contest a 1400m Maiden (Race 2, 1.30pm). She has drawn gate three and John Allen will ride.

SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH is building to a win after strong line-finding runs at Bendigo and Ballarat here on the synthetic last time out, on a day it was difficult to make ground. She has hit the line in the 3rd best last 200m split of the meeting in each of her last two starts and everything she is doing this time in suggests getting back out to the 1400m is ideal now. She can enjoy a reasonable run from gate three and with even luck I think she’s one of the key winning chances. (Form Analyst Matt Welsh)

SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH steps out again on the synthetic, where she was extremely good in coming second behind a smart one last start. There is speed drawn on the inside of her and hopefully she can in behind the speed and save energy for the finish. On form she should be winning this.(Stable)

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $2 (as at 11am)

Race 7 (4:00 pm)  Sportsbet Bet With Mates Class 2 Handicap 1100M

No.3 KASAMI – Maddi Price (Barrier 6)

KASAMI (6) heads to the Ballarat Synthetic on Friday where she will contest an 1100m Class 2 (Race 7, 4.00pm). She has drawn gate six and Maddi Price takes the ride.

KASAMI steps out onto the synthetic track to fill in the gap between runs. She is set to go to Sandown in two weeks and, without this run she would have been four weeks between runs, so this will replace a jumpout to be ready for Sandown. Meeting her toughest competition four kilos less is a serious advantage although from a tricky gate she may end up in a less than ideal spot. She is going well and can finish in the placings . (Stable)

TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $5 (as at 11am)
