MORTAR heads to Pakenham tonight, where he will contest a 1400m Maiden. He has drawn gate six, and Blaike McDougall will ride.
Mortar comes into the race as a debutant. He was slightly slow out last jumpout but was good at Terang the jumpout prior. If he can jump well there isn’t overall a lot of speed in the race so there will be the opportunity to lob into a good spot in the run. By sire of Gypsy Goddess & dam has 2 winners from 4 to race. 3rd & 4th in jumpouts leading up to this.
He has ticked all the boxes at home in his work and will be looking to progress over more ground but has strong place claims tonight.
