The Henry Dwyer Racing stable has two runners today in THE SISCOS KID and ASFOORA running at Stawell
Stawell – Good (4)
The track at Stawell has come up a Good 4 on race morning, but with warm weather forecast, it could possibly improve. The track itself has been racing terrifically well this season with very little bias evident.
Race 7 (4:30 pm) Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park Cup BM70 Hcp 1300m
No.5 THE SISCOS KID – Mitch Aitken (Barrier 2)
THE SISCOS KID (2) heads to Stawell on Friday, where He will contest the 1300m BM70 Halls Gap Cup (Race 7, 4:30 pm). He has drawn gate two, and Mitch Aitken will ride.
THE SISCOS KID steps out again this preparation after a strong 3rd over the 1300m at Geelong last start. Caught on the rail last start and struggling to find a gap in the straight, He will look to get some running room to display his pace in the straight today. Made a run which peaked late when resuming. Better for it and was a tough second up winner last time in.
In saying that, he will be fitter for the run after last start. He most likely wont lead as there is a identified speed influence in the race, all going to plan hopefully the leaders should allow him to sit in a box seat and get running room coming into the straight. The stable is really impressed in his work at home since the first up and with luck in the running, the stable is confident he can feature in the finish
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $5 (as of 1pm)
Race 8 (5:00 pm) Peter Lennox Mercedes BM58 Hcp 1100m
No.8 ASFOORA – Mitch Aitken (Barrier 8)
ASFOORA (8) heads to Stawell on Friday, where she will contest an 1100m BM58 (Race 8, 5:00 pm). She has drawn gate eight, and Mitch Aitken will ride.
ASFOORA steps out again this preparation after a strong maiden win at Colac last start over 1000m. Able to jump fairly and settle in behind the leaders, this filly showed an impressive turn of foot in the straight to put some significant distance on them in a fastly run race. Was always travelling well at debut, looking to have a bit in hand. Worth following.
She is three weeks in between runs, the stable gave her some time to recover well after last start. She’s impressed at home in all her work and looks really well. The stable is really comfortable she will get a good run and if the runs progress in the straight she should be too strong for them. Stable very confident she can go on with it today.
TAB WIN Fixed Odds – $2.90 (as of 1pm)
